




Description:
This sauce is the basis for many variations. Just add your flavour such as tomato paste or your favourite herbs. Flour, cornflour and egg are the basic ingredients for making sauces. These ingredients will thicken any gravy, pan juice or other liquid.
Ingredients:
Basic Sauce
(for 1/2 litre)
Preparation:
Melt the fat in a sauce pan and add the flour. Heat until the flour turns golden yellow stirring with a whisk .
Slowly add the liquid stirring all the time to prevent lumping. Bring the sauce to the boil and simmer on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
