Stir the tomato paste into the basic sauce using a whisk. Bring to the boil. If the sauce is too thick add water. Season with pepper salt and sugar. The amount of tomato paste you use depends on how strong a tomato flavour you want.
Notes:
This sauce goes well with pasta, rice, meat balls and crumbed schnitzel.
